Digicel and Punjas extends Netball Fiji Sponsorship

Digicel Fiji Provides Support to Diabetes Fiji

Suva, Fiji – Friday, 20th June 2023.

Digicel Fiji and Punjas and Sons Ltd have extended their sponsorship with Netball Fiji with a cash sponsorship of $40,000 and a further in-kind support of $14,000, solidifying their position as the naming rights sponsors for three of Netball Fiji's national competitions.

Digicel Fiji and Punjas have become official sponsors for the National Championship, the Vanua Cup, and the Fiji Secondary School Championship.

For the past nine years, these two companies have been staunch supporters of Netball Fiji, their unwavering assistance playing a significant role in the growth of netball at both community and grassroots levels.

Expressing her gratitude, Netball Fiji CEO Ms. Vivian Koster stated, "Punjas and Digicel Fiji's support has been instrumental in empowering young women across communities in Fiji, providing them with a platform to showcase their talents in the sport they love."

Ms. Koster extended her appreciation to Punjas and Digicel Fiji for their continuous support and emphasized the profound impact their backing has had on female athletes.

Digicel Fiji CEO, Mr. Farid Mohammed said that Digicel Fiji is happy to continue its support towards Netball Fiji, he added that their support helps in the development of netball for women around the country.

This partnership not only strengthens our commitment to the development of sports in Fiji but also reinforces our dedication to empowering women in our communities.”

“We are honoured to provide $20,000 in cash and telecommunications services for a year, ensuring the success of the National Championship, Vanua Cup, and the Fiji Secondary Schools Championship.”

Punjas Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Gopal Jadhav said, “We are delighted to partner with Digicel Fiji to support Fiji Netball again this year and provide same sponsorship amount as our partners in cash and kind. We hope these tournaments help number of players at all levels of the game, from the schools, provincial level and the elite players.”

The Fiji Secondary School finals and National Championship is schedule around August, while the Vanua Cup is scheduled in October.
