HSBC SVNS LIVE ONLY on Sky Pacific and DTV App

Suva, Fiji – Thursday, 30th November 2023

Digicel Fiji proudly announced a milestone today as Sky Pacific secured exclusive television rights for the popular 2023-2024 HSBC SVNS (formerly World Rugby Sevens Series) for the next two years.

As part of this groundbreaking deal, Sky Pacific and DTV App will be the key platforms to watch all of the Fiji men’s and the Fijiana sevens team's thrilling journey as they take on the world in a brand new format leading into the Paris Olympic Games.

The SVNS starts in Dubai this weekend and will be held in eight iconic cities, Dubai, Cape Town, Perth, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore with Madrid hosting the finals in World Rugby’s revamped and rebranded global celebration of rugby sevens with a bold ambition to supercharge rugby’s global reach.

The SVNS will provide the annual platform for the world’s best players to shine with 12 men’s and women’s teams sharing a global stage at the same location and Sky Pacific and DTV App will be the go-to destination for all the action.

Digicel Fiji CEO, Farid Mohammed with excitement commented on this momentous occasion that this groundbreaking achievement solidifies Sky Pacific and DTV App’s dominance in delivering world-class sports content to fans across Fiji.

“We are thrilled to deliver exceptional value as the home of sports entertainment. I am looking forward to the exciting sevens events and the revamped SVNS will provide an immersive and engaging sports viewing experience for fans across the country.”

“We are excited to bring to our Sky Pacific and DTV App customers, our champion Olympic champion Fiji sevens and our Olympic bronze medallists Fijiana sevens prowess during the SVNS. This underscores our dedication to delivering premium sports content and reinforces Sky Pacific’s position as the home of sports in the region,” added Farid.

All the games from the eight tournaments can be watched only on Sky Pacific and DTV App, only the super session which is staged on the finals day in each tournament will be shown on a local Free-to-Air (FTA) channel. Because the broadcast rights were awarded late, the option for FTA channels to the super session matches might only start from the Cape Town tournament onwards.
