Digicel Vanuatu Launches MyCash QR Payments on Service Buses in Vanuatu.

Port Vila, Vanuatu – September, 2026

Digicel Vanuatu is pleased to announce the launch of MyCash QR payments on participating service buses.

The new initiative enables commuters to complete payments using the MyCash app on their mobile phone. This provides a safe and convenient payment experience for both passengers and transport operators, making it easy for passengers to pay for their daily travel securely and without cash.

Speaking on the service introduction, Gary Sue Fong, Chief Executive Officer of Digicel Vanuatu, said:

“The introduction of MyCash QR payments on participating service buses is more than just a new payment option; it represents a shift in how we think about convenience, accessibility and financial inclusion in Vanuatu. We are proud to work alongside our partners in government and the transport sector to bring digital payment solutions into everyday services that people rely on. Digicel Vanuatu is committed to investing in solutions that empower communities and accelerate Vanuatu's digital transformation agenda."

Participating service buses will have the MyCash QR codes displayed on the dashboard inside the vehicle, allowing passengers to simply scan the code and pay their fare from their MyCash wallet. In addition to providing the payment service, Digicel Vanuatu is supporting operators with branded QR code materials to help educate the public and encourage adoption of the service.

Through this initiative with local service bus operators, Digicel Vanuatu continues to expand the range of MyCash QR payment options, supporting the continued growth of digital payment options across Vanuatu.
