Digicel Vanuatu Celebrates 18 Years of Connecting Vanuatu

Port Vila, Vanuatu – 3rd July

Digicel Vanuatu is proud to celebrate 18 years of connecting communities across Vanuatu, marking a milestone that reflects nearly two decades of investment in connectivity, supporting digital inclusion and Vanuatu’s national development.

Since launching operations, Digicel Vanuatu has expanded connectivity across Vanuatu, investing in network coverage and infrastructure to reach communities nationwide. Today, Digicel Vanuatu’s network reaches approximately 95% of the population, supported by an extensive retail and distribution footprint that delivers services to communities across the islands.

Beyond connectivity, Digicel Vanuatu has continued to invest in improving customer experiences and expanding digital services. This includes its mobile financial platform, MyCash, which supports increased financial inclusion by providing people with access to secure and convenient digital transactions.

Recent enhancements, including the rollout of QR payment capabilities and integration into the National Payment System, mark further progress in enabling access to efficient and accessible digital payments for individuals, businesses, and government services.

Digicel Vanuatu’s impact has also been shaped through long-standing partnerships with local businesses, distributors, retailers, and community stakeholders, helping extend services to remote parts of the country.

“Celebrating 18 years is a proud milestone for Digicel Vanuatu. We are incredibly grateful to our customers, partners, employees, and communities who have supported us throughout this journey. For nearly two decades, our purpose has been to keep Vanuatu connected, and we remain committed to investing in innovative solutions that help improve lives and build a stronger digital future for everyone, “said Vanuatu CEO, Gary Sue Fong.

As Digicel Vanuatu looks ahead, its focus remains on continued investment in network reliability, expanding digital services, and supporting the growth of businesses and communities across Vanuatu.
