Thursday, 28 May 2026

Digicel PNG has collaborated with Puma Energy to introduce a new, convenient way for customers to pay for fuel using the CellMoni mobile wallet. The initiative, titled “Fuel Up and Go with Digicel PNG CellMoni”, enables customers to make fast, secure, and cashless fuel payments at participating Puma Energy service stations.

This initiative marks a significant step in expanding CellMoni, by enabling CellMoni Customers to pay for fuel directly from their mobile phones, eliminating the need to carry cash and improving both convenience and safety.

Managing Director for Digicel PNG Mobile Financial Services, Thompson Sakyi, said the initiative reflects Digicel PNG’s commitment to delivering practical digital solutions for everyday needs.

“Fuel is an essential, everyday purchase for many Papua New Guineans. By enabling CellMoni payments at Puma Energy stations, we are making it easier for customers to pay quickly, safely, and without the need for cash. This is about simplifying daily transactions and giving our customers greater control and confidence in how they manage their money.”

Fuel payments via CellMoni are now available at selected Puma Energy stations in Port Moresby, including Waigani, Boroko, UPNG, and Lawes Road, with additional locations in Lae (Eriku) and Madang Town.

For many customers, paying for fuel has traditionally required carrying physical cash, often leading to inconvenience, delays, or security concerns. With CellMoni, transactions are completed quickly, with no need for customers to carry cash or receive change, and also allow users to track their spending directly from their mobile wallet.

Mr. Sakyi added that the initiative also plays a key role in accelerating the adoption of digital payments across the country.

“We are focused on playing a part to help build a strong digital financial ecosystem in Papua New Guinea. Initiatives like this not only expand where CellMoni can be used, but also help drive the shift toward a more cashless, efficient, and inclusive economy for all.”

Customers are encouraged to download the CellMoni app and experience a smarter way to pay for fuel that is fast, safe, and cashless.
