Digicel Fiji signs partnership deal with Cure Kids Fiji

Suva, Fiji – Wednesday, 10 May 2023.

Digicel Fiji is delighted to announce its new partnership with Cure Kids Fiji, a non-profit organisation that aims to improve the health and well-being of children in Fiji.

Digicel Fiji will provide Cure Kids Fiji with mobile network support to help them communicate more effectively with the communities they serve, providing a comprehensive package of $35,000 in support.

Cure Kids Fiji is an exceptional organization that is devoted to enhancing the health and well-being of children in Fiji. Digicel Fiji is honoured to be able to contribute to its admirable efforts this year.

One particular area that Cure Kids Fiji focuses on is helping children who have rheumatic heart disease. This condition affects one in 50 children in Fiji and is the second leading cause of death for children and young people in our country.

Regional Digicel Pacific CEO, Ms. Shally Jannif said that improving children’s health is a cause that is important to our company and is a cause that is close to its heart.

“We are delighted to partner with Cure Kids Fiji and to support their important work in improving the health and well-being of children in Fiji. We believe that our support will help them to communicate more effectively, raise awareness, and reach more people with their important message.”

“We believe we have this unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people and their families by investing in programs and initiatives that focus on prevention, early intervention, and treatment.”

“At Digicel, our belief is that it is our duty to give back to the community, and we are committed to making a positive impact. We are truly honoured to be able to help support Cure Kids Fiji in its crucial work,” added Ms. Jannif.

“We know that we cannot change the world overnight, but we can make a difference, one step at a time. And that is exactly what we are doing today – by supporting Cure Kids Fiji we are taking a small step towards a brighter future for our children.”

Cure Kids Fiji, Board Chair, Tony Whitton, said; “We are thrilled to have Digicel Fiji as our partner and are grateful for their generous support. This assistance will help us to improve the health and well-being of children in Fiji and to create a brighter future for our country.”

This partnership will also allow Digicel Fiji staff to volunteer their time and skills to support Cure Kids Fiji’s cause. This includes organising fundraising events, helping with testing or screening programs, or providing administrative support.

The partnership deal signed today is for a year.
