Digicel Wishes Pukpuk 7's Success At World Cup Qualifier
July 25th 2008 - Digicel's sponsorship supports PukPuks participation in World Cup QualifierFriday July 25, 2008 – Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea: Digicel, the fastest growing mobile operator in the Pacific, wishes the Digicel Pukpuk 7’s team the best of luck at the World Cup Qualifiers that are being held in Samoa on 25th July and 26th of July.
As part of the exclusive sponsorship deal with the Digicel Pukpuk 7’s the selected team players showed off their new Digicel rugby jerseys just one day before leaving for Samoa, to prepare for the World Cup Qualifier. The team’s strongest opponent in their pool is Samoa. If they win the semi finals the Pukpuk team will be participating in the Dubai 2009 World Cup tournament.
Digicel Pukpuk 7’s team trainer, Sailosi Druma, said “We are leaving for Samoa well in advance of our matches so we will have plenty of preparation time on the ground. The team is well prepared and has benefited from maximum exposure in terms of training and match play thanks to Digicel’s generous sponsorship.
